… and the Athens News was saved

July 22, 2009

Yes, the Athens News managed to survive the threat of closure last October. The paper’s first attempt at a blog, entitled Save Athens News, is thankfully obsolete.

As in previous summers, the newsroom has been invigorated by the arrival of the season’s interns, who have urged that a new blog be started.

And a little treat for those in the AN blogosphere: a video by former film critic Angelike Contis which captures the Athens News of old, back in its offices at Christou Lada in the “Lambrakistan” area, in central Athens. Enjoy!

unfortunately, the absences of John Psaropoulos, Mark Dragoumis and Brady Kiesling have made AN a far less stimulating and interesting read
